Financial Support
Federal Financial Aid
To apply for Federal Financial Aid, which may include grants, scholarships, and loans, fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit all necessary documentation. You will then work with your home campus Financial Aid Office to learn what aid is available to you and to accept or deny the aid.
Scholarship Opportunities
Your success coach is happy to connect you with resources available through your campus and outside organizations to explore scholarship opportunities. Students are also strongly encouraged to seek out scholarship opportunities on their own and connect with their employers regarding reimbursement possibilities.
Budgeting 101
Developing and following a budget can be tough! It is important to remember that a budget can be flexible and should evolve over time. Keep in mind that it can take several months of budgeting to figure out a method and expense estimates that work well for you and your current situation! SMGT students have access to a range of expense calculators and budgeting systems to help manage their money.
Fiscal Literacy in Education and Beyond
There are many resources dedicated to helping you manage your finances. Whether you’re working on paying for your education, saving for the future, buying a house, starting a business, or your life is simply changing, our team of success coaches is happy to share resources to provide some guidance.
While we are happy to help out, Success Coaches are not financial professionals. We have compiled these resources based on student experiences and our own experiences, but are unable to provide professional financial guidance. Please consult with a financial professional if you have questions related to your personal finances.

Meet Your Success Coach
Robin Schwenn
My college years were some of the best years of my life, but it did come with many different challenges. From balancing school and work (juggling 4 different jobs at one time) to getting through some pretty tough courses, with a little trial and error, I was able to find strategies to move forward and reach my goals successfully. I enjoy working with students to help them find solutions that work for their unique situations and learning styles.
