About Sustainability

What is sustainability? The most widely recognized definition is “meeting the present needs of society without compromising the needs of future generations.” In other words, to be truly sustainable, we must achieve a healthy balance between the economy, society, and the planet.

Today, business leaders realize that their organizations have a role to play in preserving the planet’s resources and improving the communities in which they do business. Organizations with concrete corporate sustainability initiatives are proving that these efforts can be strategic and profitable, giving them a competitive advantage in the long run. The emphasis on corporate sustainability means that employers need talented, well-rounded professionals who have the business skills, plus science and economic knowledge to drive the kind of sustainable development that is good for business.
